Join us in Vava’u, Tonga for unforgettable and intimate encounters with humpback whales. You do not need any SCUBA or freediving certification, as we will be snorkeling while observing these incredible animals in their natural habitat.

Our small group size allows for plenty of time in the water and a variety of encounters, from mothers and calves to juveniles and singers, and at times even males competing for mating rights. Each day feels different and full of possibility.

We will spend our days swimming, exploring, sharing meals, staying together in a large house, and heading out on the boat for full days on the water.

Arrive in Vava’u, where transport will be waiting to pick you up from the airport. Once we arrive at the house, we’ll have a brief orientation to get you familiar with the space and go over what you’ll need to prepare for the upcoming days. After you’ve had time to settle in, we’ll gather for dinner together. 

Breakfast will be served at the house each morning before we head out on the boat. Our days on the water are typically around seven hours long, with lunch provided on the boat. We are guided by an experienced Tongan captain and crew, who know the area well and will assist in finding the whales.

Most dinners are home-cooked and shared together at the house. On some occasions, we may also enjoy dining out as a group, these meals are included in the trip price.

The rest day will always fall on the Sunday of your trip.

This is a free day to enjoy at your own pace. You can explore the town, visit local sites, swim or snorkel at a nearby beach, or simply relax and recharge for the days ahead.

Depart from Vava’u. Transportation to the airport will be provided.
